Keeping everyone safe (safeguarding and data protection)
Everyone is welcome here, whether you are a person of faith or not. We hope that any contact you have with us will be a positive experience.
One of the biggest gifts that the Church has to offer is that of being a place where we can know ourselves to be loved in our inmost self, including the parts we find hard to accept. We are aware that this makes it a place of vulnerability, and vulnerability always runs the risk of being harmed in some way. We know that many people have experienced harm in Church settings, and we are committed to doing everything possible to make Holy Cross a safe and secure community for everyone.
We follow good practice in safeguarding and data protection. All those involved in work with children or vulnerable adults are members of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme.
If you have any concerns, either for yourself or someone else, please contact the Rector or our safeguarding coordinator: Alan Kirkpatrick (07891 237940).
Holy Cross has adopted the safeguarding policy of the Scottish Episcopal Church:
We have a data protection and privacy policy compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
